Red onion and goats cheese tart recipe

 
 



Ingredients

To make Red onion and goats cheese tarts for 6 people you will need:
500g Ready Made Puff Pastry
200g Goats Cheese
2 Red Onions
1oz Butter
1oz Brown Sugar
2 tblsp Balsamic Vinegar


Instructions

Roll Our the Puff Pastry (If you haven't bought it already rolled)
Cut Large rounds with a pastry cutter and then "dent" the middle of the Large Rounds - with a smaller one.
Or you can use a knife to cut squares.

Bake in oven for about 10 mins (or until pastry is lightly browned) at 160'c

Meanwhile slice thinly the Red Onions and fry slowly in butter and brown sugar (about 1/2 teaspoon full - but add to suit taste)
Once softened add balsamic Vinegar.
Reduce mixture right down so that there is no juice.

Once pasty is cooked - allow to cool and cut the tops off (where you have made the dent)

Fill pastry case with caramelised Onions and top with a "wedge" of Goats Cheese.
Return to oven to heat through and metl the cheese(about 5-8 mins)

Serve the red onion and goats cheese tarts with Rocket and Sun Dried Tomatoes.
