Apple Sauce Cake with Carmel Sauce recipe

To make Apple Sauce Cake with Carmel Sauce you will need
Ingredients
| 1 | cup | Shortening | | 2 | cups | Sugar | | 3 | cups | Flour | | 1 1/2 | teaspoons | Nutmeg | | 1 | tablespoon | Cinnamon | | 1 | teaspoon | Cloves | | 1/2 | teaspoons | Salt | | 1 | tablespoon | Baking soda | | 2 1/2 | cups | Apple sauce | | 2 | tablespoons | Corn syrup | | 1 | cup | Raisins | | 1 | cup | Nuts; chopped |
| | CARMEL SAUCE | | | | 1/2 | cups | Milk | | 1/2 | teaspoons | Vanilla | | 1/2 | cups | Water | | 2 | tablespoons | Butter | | 1 | cup | Brown sugar | | 1 1/2 | tablespoons | Flour | | 1/2 | teaspoons | Nutmeg |
Instructions
Cream shortening, sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Sift dry ingredients.
Mix applesauce and corn syrup. Add dry ingredients and aplesauce. Add
raisins and nuts.
Bake in 12 x 9 inch pan for 1.5 hours at 300 degrees.
Serve with Carmel Sauce (instructions below)
CARMEL SAUCE: Mix milk and water in pan. Add sugar and flour, nutmeg and
cook until thick (5 minutes). Add vanilla and butter.
