Apple Cranberry Bars recipe

To make Apple Cranberry Bars you will need

| 1 | cup | Margarine -- softened | | 2 | cups | Apples -- peeled/chopped | | 1 | cup | Cranberries -- chopped | | 2 | | Egg whites -- whipped | | 2 | teaspoons | Orange peel -- grated | | 2 | teaspoons | Vanilla | | 2 1/4 | cups | Unbleached flour | | 1 1/2 | cups | Granulated sugar | | 1 | teaspoon | Baking soda | | 1/4 | teaspoons | Salt | | | Topping---- | | 1/3 | cups | Margarine -- softened | | 3 | ounces | Fat-free cream cheese -- | | | Softened | | 1 | teaspoon | Vanilla | | 2 | cups | Powdered sugar --sifted | | 1 | teaspoon | Orange peel -- grated | | 4 | teaspoons | Skim milk -- at room | | | Temperature |
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 15 x 10 x 1" jelly roll pan with
cooking spray and flour. In a mixing bowl, combine the margarine, apples,
cranberries, egg whites, orange peel and vanilla. In another mixing bowl,
combine flour, baking soda and salt. Mix dry ingredients with wet
ingredients just until moistened. Spread mixture into prepared pan. Bake
for 30 to 35 minutes. Meanwhile, to prepare topping, combine the
margarine, cream cheese, vanilla, orange peel, and milk. Top when bars
have cooled.
