Apple Butter with Port recipe

To make Apple Butter with Port you will need
Ingredients
| 1 | | Bottle port 4/5 qt | | 4 | cups | Water | | 6 | | Large golden delicious appls | | 1 1/2 | cups | Sugar | | 1/4 | teaspoons | Salt | | 1/2 | teaspoons | Ground cinnamon | | 1 | | Whole cinnamon stick |
Instructions
Pare apples and thinly slice. Combine port with water and bring to boil
over high heat. Add apples and simmer uncovered, stirring occasinally for
45 minutes. Add sugar and spices and cook 20 -25 minutes until it resembles
applesauce. Prepare 3 pint jars and fill. Set aside to cool and check
seals.
