175 g (6 oz) Self Raising Flour pinch salt 75 g (3 oz) caster sugar 50 g (2 oz) ground almonds 150 g (5 oz) margarine few drops almond essence 10 blanched almonds

Instructions
1 Heat oven to 180ºC, 350ºF, Gas Mark 4. Grease two baking trays. 2 Mix together the dry ingredients, then rub in the margarine. 3 Add the almond essence and mix well, bring together using your hands. 4 Roll out thinly and cut into rounds. Place half a blanched almond on each. 5 Place on a baking tray and bake for 15 minutes. 6 Remove from the baking tray and cool on a wire rack.
